Finally began work on the Brutalist Structure

  And here is a "blueprint" overview of the level. Top and side. Not sure just how much bigger this should get. I do like how it's coming so far! Can't wait to add the portal rooms into it as well. 


  Ω      Got the ALS4 character motion system merged with the main project. This is going to help a lot with the 3rd person character view, if we decide to go that route. I think we should. I would like the following to be available: switch between 1st person and 3rd person views toggle left or right shoulder 3rd person view add a new animation; telekinetic object pickup actually make the character design the character, concept art, etc rig the character mesh re-target the skeleton  I think that's it for the time being. Can't think of anything else yet.

Testing Portals

Ω I think it looks rad unlit. I almost want to make this as a gamemode option in the settings. I probably should! But it will take a bit of tinkering to figure out I'm sure.  I got the portals working. I am not 100% satisfied with the functionality. When the player enter the portals, there is a visual glitch. There is also a glitch when you step away too far. I wish it was possible to perfectly mimic the portal illusion. Maybe there is with C++ but that is beyond my skill.  Added some rain particles effects. It's running well so far but may get more intensive as I add more. May need to consider level streaming soon. 

Onwards to 3D modeling!

  Ω Okay. Time to make some buildings in 3DS Max. This is all I have so far. It took me longer than I had hoped to get this far, but it looks much better in Unreal Engine.  Although when I import it, I have to manually move everything around. A little annoying so I guess I will just have to reset all my assets in Unreal to their new positions.

Ω So I think  I have a better idea of how I want the game to feel. At least I think I nailed down some of the concept aesthetics and sound down. I'll share a couple of amazing photos/renders below of my vision.  They just look so cool.  I wish I could explain the music I plan to use but am not really able to upload it here. If I find something similar sounding on YouTube or whatever I will share that. 

New Project: Omega

 Ω Created a new project titled "Omega". Imported a ton of stuff to this project from the Unreal marketplace. Bought a few new assets as well recently for 50% off. Hopefully they make my life a tad easier.  Still not entirely sure what I want this game to be about, but I know the following: Don't want it to take place on Earth Should look and feel pretty desolate Brutalist architecture with organic forms That's all I got so far. Definitely want to add surreal elements.  I don't know if this should be 1st person or 3rd person yet. Thinking a mix between the two depending on what you are doing in-game.  Time to start merging some of my old assets and code. Wish me luck.
